The primary responsibility of the food runner is centered around their ability to deliver food correctly to the customers who ordered it. By understanding the floor plan, table and seat numbers, and sections. They will provide assistance to busy waitstaff and bartenders in a timely manner. Runners do not take orders or handle payments. Under the direction of the chef, they help plate and garnish as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accurately
Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
Bus tables by removing dirty dishes, glassware, and trash
Check-in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory
Relay reports of customer satisfaction to the manager and relevant parties
Ensure guests have all the appropriate tableware needed to properly enjoy their food
Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins, and table dressing
Handle various impromptu requests from customers

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

Great verbal and written communication capabilities.
Flexibility to work different shifts.
The ability to work quickly and adapt on the go.
Excellent customer service skills.
Able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Able to walk or stand for nearly 100 percent of the shift.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Minimum 1 year of high volume, upscale service industry experience required
Open Table experience preferred
