POSITION SUMMARY:  It is the primary responsibility of the Bartender is to service guests in a courteous, timely, and professional manner while ensuring his/her outlet is clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Reports to Supervisor/Manager on duty
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality guest’s experience
Knowledgeable with all types of liquors and beers and their respective recipes, non-alcoholic beverages, and garnishes
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
Maintains a guest focus while performing all duties
Prepares all mixes and garnishes.
Stocks all glassware, condiments, beer, paper products and other necessary items needed for efficient operation.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages and any specials that may be running at that time.
Takes beverage orders from guests and servers
Accept guest payment in either cash or process credit card charges and make change (if applicable)
Wash and sterilize glassware
Prepare garnishes for drinks
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specs and recipes
Record drink orders accurately and immediately rung into TouchBistro System
Learns the names and personally recognizes our regulars
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
Report all equipment problems, POS problems, and bar maintenance issues to bar supervisor/manager
Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
Clear, clean up bar area during patron’s visit and after patron leaves
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
Other related duties as necessary

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must have High School Diploma or GED

Required:

At least 3 years experience as a high volume, upscale service bartender
Ability to operate and maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar at all times, excellent organizational skills to function under time constraint.
Ability to access all areas of the bar and storage areas, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items.
Ability to push a mobile bar, work indoors.
Being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, wet floors. Environmental factors include noise, dust, cigarette smoke etc.
Professional appearance and demeanor
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Previous experience working in a similar setting
Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
Must be able to work unsupervised
Must have the ability to handle money and operate point-of-sale system
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed
Be able to work in a fast paced bar and restaurant environment
Preferred:

Previous experience working in a similar setting
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Bartending Certification
Alcohol Awareness Card
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:.

Excellent customer service skills.
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
