Food on the Move believes that everyone deserves healthy food. Our year-round mobile markets bring fresh, healthy produce to the people and places that need it most. We make healthy food more accessible by bringing markets to senior housing sites and community locations, and more affordable by doubling the value of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars spent on fruits and vegetables.

Food on the Move typically holds two markets per day, three days per week, in various locations across Rhode Island.

Job Description
RIPHI is seeking Market Team Members to staff markets, assist customers, and collect research data. This includes:
Representing RIPHI and Food on the Move in the community
Adhering to Food on the Move’s business protocols
Setting up and breaking down markets
Providing excellent customer service
Cashiering using Food on the Move’s point of sale system
Conducting in person or phone surveys with shoppers
Being an active participant in RIPHI and Food on the Move team meetings
Driving a van with an attached trailer
Lifting loads up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling carts up to 100 lbs
Maintaining clear communication with Food Access Manager and Evaluation Manager

This position is part time, approximately 20 hours per week. Early morning and evening work will be required.

The ideal candidate will be hard working, reliable, detail oriented, responsible, a team player, and have a desire to help others. We are looking for people with positive, can-do attitudes. This position involves daily operation of the FOTM markets, providing excellent customer service, and conducting in person and phone interviews with shoppers. Bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese required.
