SUMMARY

This Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator (EPC) will work under the day-to-day direction of the Entrepreneurship Program Manager (EPM) to serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic point of contact for current and prospective Members, as well as general inquiries. The EPC will promote Hope & Main’s innovative incubation program and will assist in recruiting and onboarding new Members as well as servicing current Members. The EPC will help to organize, manage, and streamline the processes and programs that support onboarding and current Members. The EPC will have the opportunity to tap the valuable expertise of Hope & Main’s members and graduate community, as well as outside consultants and industry professionals to assist the EPM to develop a collaborative network to assist a wide variety of food start-ups. The position requires a willingness to learn the range of business processes involved in launching a food enterprise from ideation through a successful market introduction and the special challenges faced by entrepreneurs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Promote Hope & Main’s incubation program and move prospective entrepreneurs through the recruitment and onboarding process. Working with the Entrepreneurship Program Manager (EPM), ensure a smooth and timely progression through the onboarding process for each Member.

Keep membership prospects engaged by developing a schedule of communication and check-ins including application updates, clarifying the next steps, and sharing upcoming events and news from Hope & Main as well as the food industry at large.

Assist with and maintain a schedule of meetings, consultations, and communication with current Members and prospects including but not limited to semi-annual check-ins, follow up emails, and inquiries.  Circulate materials related to the core business processes Hope & Main utilizes in onboarding and Member support.

Maintain Members database and files (paper and digital) keeping organized, complete, and up to date records.

Assist the EPM to promote and develop materials for both remote and in-person classes including Hope & Main’s First Course, Onboarding Cohort, and ad-hoc education programming.  Coordinate and circulate class logistics including meeting links and presentation materials and course pre and post surveys.

Maintain and research information about Member resources including vendors, consultants, suppliers, retailers and distributors, government agencies, and the like.

Under the direction of the Entrepreneurship Program Manager, connect current Members to industry resources as needed, and ensure that services are delivered.

Track KPIs (key performance indicators) and related analytics to generate reports and analysis of Members’ performance and growth

Help coordinate outreach and logistics of Hope & Main business to business events, including TableTop, FREBE, What’s Local Wednesday, and other events throughout the year.

Play an active role in Hope & Main’s Members-Only Facebook group, posting interactive threads that foster a community

Provide tours of the facility as required in response to inquiries.

Other duties as required in a fast-paced start-up led by a small team that often multi-tasks

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ATTITUDE

Seeking an engaging individual with intellectual curiosity and a willingness and desire to learn. The EPC will take initiative, independently research options, and alternatives to assist Member businesses. Must be flexible and able to manage in a fast-paced and highly varied environment requiring creativity and resourcefulness. Must be able to make decisions in the face of ambiguity and enjoy the journey of continuous improvement. Must have front-line relationship management/customer interface experience, i.e., in-service and/or sales.
The ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment is required
Working knowledge of social media and communication platforms.  Web-publishing experience is a plus.
Experience with virtual event/webinar/content hosting platforms including Zoom Meetings, webinar hosting platforms, Google Hangouts, etc is preferred
Broad knowledge of the food business and experience in a fast-paced, innovative, and growing food or food-related enterprise is preferred
Exceptional at relationship and community building
Very comfortable with networking, service, promotion, and sales
Must be proficient in both Microsoft Office and Google Drive suites
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in business, finance, marketing, accounting, organizational behavior, communication,  entrepreneurship, or a related area.
