Our fifth annual Festival kicks off with the fifth installment of one of Rhode Island’s most popular dining series, Dinner by Dames, to benefit Sojourner House. This female-driven dining experience brings together five of Rhode Island’s most talented chefs, Melissa Denmark of Gracie’s and Ellie’s Bakery, Jordan Goldsmith of Scratch Farm, Maria Meza of El Rancho Grande, Kaitlyn Roberts of Easy Entertaining Inc. and Jessica Wood of Fire and Water Restaurant Group, for a multi-course dining event. The guest Dame for April’s dinner will be Sara Reilly, Pastry Chef at Ellie’s Bakery.

To make the evening that much more special Jen Davis, of The Eddy, will lead a group of RI’s top women bartenders, including Kayleigh Speck of The GrangeElizabeth Sawtelle of Nicks on BroadwayCaitlin Murphy of The Dorrance, and Katie Masterson of The Boombox at The Dean Hotel, in creating cocktail pairings for each course, with spirits provided by Anchor Distilling Company.

The evening will begin with a 6 p.m. reception with welcome bites, then moving into a five-course dinner with cocktail pairings. The cost is $140 (inclusive of tax, gratuity and charitable donation).

Sojourner House

Sojourner House commemorates its 40th anniversary as a Rhode Island domestic violence non-profit organization in 2016!

Initially founded by a group of students, staff, and alumnae from Brown University, Sojourner House has been serving victims and survivors of domestic violence through a variety of services and education initiatives since 1976. Through our strong network of volunteers, local businesses and professionals, survivors, and community partners, Sojourner House has helped over 50,000 individuals throughout the past 40 years. The organization’s goal is to help clients rebuild their lives, while creating awareness in the community for the many issues related to domestic abuse.
