Edible Communities Wins James Beard Foundation “Publication of the Year” Award
Edible Communites Publications, of which local magazine Edible Rhody is a part, won the Publication of the Year award at the James Beard Foundation awards held Friday evening in New York. Publication of the Year is a new category under the Beard Foundation’s Journalism Awards group. Genie McPherson Trevor, editor of Edible Rhody, sent out an email this morning to contributors (disclosure: Dadekian is a contributor) saying, “Needless to say we are all thrilled and honored to be recognized by the James Beard Foundation in such a way. I hope you are all equally proud of the work you have contributed to Edible Rhody, and therefore Edible Communities, to get us this far.” Congratulations to Edible Communities Publications founders Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian, and all the publishers, editor and contributors to 63 magazines in the group.
