The second Rhode Island Food Fights event of 2014, the 3rd Annual Incredible Ice Cream Throwdown, was held this past Sunday, June 22nd at the Rhode Island Eye Institute in Providence. Eleven ice cream makers competed to see who had the best.

Eat Drink RI along with Sons of Liberty Spirits, Wildwood and Easy Entertaining, the RI Small Business Journal, and the RI Food Policy Council, have put together two Town Hall style forums, one with the candidates for governor of Rhode Island on Wednesday, August 13th, at the Sons of Liberty Spirits Distillery in South Kingstown and one with the candidates for mayor of Providence on Monday, August 18th, at The Café at Easy Entertaining in Providence.

The first Rhode Island Food Fights event of 2014, the Great Cupcake Championship, was held March 9th at Fête in Providence. Thirteen area bakers specializing in cupcakes competed to see who had the best, according to a panel of six culinary judges.
In January, Eat Drink RI produced the first in a series of Lifestyle Dinners with partners Easy Entertaining Inc., the pioneering farm-to-table caterer, and Rhode Island-based wine importer Magnum Wines International.
